This was inspired from a painting trip to Chandor Gardens in Weatherford.   I painted the waterfalls and brought that painting back to the studio to use as a reference for this painting.  It was a calming spot in the garden with the sound of the falls splashing.

I met my friend Linda at High Hope Ranch in Glen Rose, Texas

Sandy showed us around with a personal tour of the landscape.  This is a wonderful retreat with three guest house for rent. I was fortunate to find the gay feathers blooming their lovely purple blooms.

I loved being in this remote location painting the local landscape.

I had my car packed with my painting gear with plans to meet my friends at 9:00 on Friday. I'm such an early bird I took off early to the pharmacy. They weren't opened yet, so I found a scene to paint not far from the pharmacy. The warm greens and distance hills were fun to capture on canvas.

I created this from a small study I painted on location at Lake Benbrook.
