True Blue is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, as we brace ourselves for the coldest winter since the ill fated Dallas Super Bowl weather of some years ago. The pug helpers have been huddled on their pug-ur-pedic mattresses around the radiant foot heaters all day. I felt absolutely sinful by taking a few hours off from the easel this morning to make another batch of Christmas cookies for our neighbors and friends. I can't remember what it is like to have a few weeks when I am not traveling, packing boxes for workshops to ship across the country, and having a suitcase always in the midst of being filled up. The ice storm, like the flu, has forced me to stop and smell the roses, or rather, smell the holiday cookies baking! Both equally pleasant prospects...! I really hope wherever you have, you are warm and dry and you have enough electricity to have the luxury of making cookies, or perhaps just a nice batch of steamy hot chocolate with extra whippy creme on top!
