In third world countries, goats in are valuable commodities. Providing meat AND milk, they are often brought into the residents' homes at night for protection. On my recent mission trip to Haiti, I saw a lot of goats and most were treated as well as family, and brought into homes at night for protection. I still prefer my dog to sleep by my bed!
