Wild Things is the newest sunflower painting in a studio filled with sunflower paintings, but the first time I have ever painted a field of sunflowers. I've had requests for years to do a vista of these favorite blossoms. Growing up in Texas, the highway department plants sunflowers as a weed control alternative, so you see them for hundreds of miles along the byways. What a gift to have something given so casually cause so much simple pleasure and delight.

This is the last new painting I will prepare for my Dallas Arboretum Artscape show March 18-20. You are invited to join me in Booth 54 in the gardens from 9 am to 5 pm each day. The tulips will be in full bloom, so I hope you will be there for a fun day among the most glorious blossoms in North Texas. Visit my blog to see some of my favorite tulips from the show last year, the Queen of the Night black tulips.
