Where You've Been - Angel Palette Knife Painting by Judy Mackey

"Where You've Been"
14" x 11", Oil on Board

Long ago I heard a song by Kathy Mattea about a couple who'd been married for years and years - she wrote the song from something she heard her grandmother who had Alzheimer's had said and she had witnessed.  Her grandmother was in an assisted living, she'd been withdrawn and not speaking until they wheeled her grandfather into her room and she said "Where've you been?  I've looked for you for ever and a day".

I wonder sometimes at how happy our pets seem when we leave them alone at the house for a few minutes/hours/days and then return?  They seems so terribly happy to see us.  Almost as though they ask us where you've been?  I've looked for you for ever and a day!

Ok, I do have a soft spot for dogs.....!
