Indian Paintbrush is based on the wildflower fields of Willow City Loop near Llano, Texas. We took a scenic drive around the Loop on our way home from Fredericksburg, Texas, this weekend after delivering art to The Good Art Company Gallery. The flowers are still in full bloom in the Texas Hill Country, with even some late color Bluebonnets in the mix of blackeyed susans, Indian paintbrush, Indian blanket, and wild white poppies. The fields were an amazing array of colors, like God's own palette, bringing to mind the multicolored Painted Buntings that are visiting my mother's farm in East Texas again this spring.

AnnieBee made the trip with us to Fredericksburg, and gave her approval to the wonderful little bed and breakfast where we stayed. You can see pictures from our trip on my art blog. Today I'm looking forward to spending time with the lady I love most in the whole world, my Mom. Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there, even if your kids are just the four footed cuties like mine!
