Summer Song by Nancy Medina

This was my first time to paint red gladiolas and these flowers were incredibly fun to create! The gladiolas are based on a photo I took at the Coronado Island Flower Festival this past spring (you remember, the one I got kicked out of because I wasn't a judge or juror?) Three little pears from the grocery store sitting on my workstation also helped with this project, although one of the three mysteriously disappeared overnight. Perhaps it fled to a safe harbor for pears somewhere. And no painting is completed at Flower Mound Studio without the assistance of the three four-footed assistants who strategically select napping accommodations directly in front of the easel.

Summer feels like it is slipping away already, even here in Texas. Where does the time go? I hope you are enjoying a relaxing Saturday with loved ones nearby and all of your pears safely accounted for....
